T3 31: Top 10 SNL Cast Members

September. Just the word conjures images of colorful leaves, school buses, the return of long pants. Fortunately, it also means new images will be conjured in that special box, the television, as the big shows begin their new seasons. One we are particularly interested in this year is Saturday Night Live, which had some of its heavy hitters leave the cast this summer. Thinking about that got us thinking about the whole, grand history of SNL, and we finally settled on one question: Who are our favorite cast members of all time?

Listen to find out. Or just check the list after the break.

T3 30: Top 10 Albums of 2003

What did 2003 sound like to you? The early 2000s were a time of change, when digital distribution via iTunes and other, lesser services came into its own. When you could actually watch music videos on VH1 and MTV (actually MTV2, it wasn’t that long ago). When a little band called The Darkness came out with an album that changed just about everyone’s life. Now it’s nine years later, The Darkness have reunited and released a new album, and yet, we turn our gaze backward, to that time just before the 2004 election, when it seemed just about anything was possible.

Or maybe not. List’s after the break. If nothing else, you should listen to this episode for a brief appearance by indie music sensation Nick Duncan.

T3 29: Top 10 PlayStation Games

With Sean taking full advantage of his Mildly Pleased company vacation days, it was up to Colin, John and myself to get things done. With John taking over the hosting duties, his younger brother Paul fills out the foursome with his vast knowledge of Playstation expertise.

Since posting duties were thrust upon Colin and he simply made the title and proceeded to give up, I’m giving this a try a day late. Hopefully it works!

T3 28: Top 10 Nintendo 64 Games

Somehow, our longest podcast yet is a discussion about the Nintendo 64, a discussion, mind you, that is a rehash of a post I did four years ago. While the N64 could maybe have disappeared into history as one of Nintendo’s weaker systems, it existed at exactly the right time for it to matter a lot to us at Mildly Pleased. So, get out your four controllers, plug in your expansion pack, and have a listen.

If you want an N64 shopping list, check it out after the break.

T3 27: Top 10 One-Hit Wonders of the 1980s

The 1980s. What a weird time to be alive. Neon colors, video game arcades, casette tapes, sure does seem like a long time ago. A little while ago, we talked about our favorite one-hit wonders of the 1990s, and realized at the end that we wished we had done the Eighties instead. So, now that it’s been long enough, here we are. Another Eighties-centric list. At this rate, I doubt it will be the last.

If you figured out the podcast is really just a written list in disguise, you can watch it transform after the break.

T3 26: Top 10 Arnold Schwarzeneggar Movies

Fates be damned! The recording of this podcast was erased from all the this reality, and while we could all go listen to it in another dimension, I don’t think getting killed by a character from DragonBall Z is something any of us are trying to do (remember how instead of saying “I’m going to kill you” they said they would send people to another dimension). So, our spirits diminished, we nonetheless promised you a list. So here it is.

This podcast isn’t very long, but you can skip it anyway after the break.

T3: The Dark Knight Rises Special

Not satisfied with a lengthy review, hastily written at some ungodly hour? Neither were we! So we worked up something real special for you: our first official podcast review. No, this isn’t a snarky “Top 10 Plot Holes” episode, like our usual show; this is a real, unscripted discussion of the film. And we had some fun doing it too, if you’d like more of these, let us know!
