The Best of T3

Hey America, we love ya. We love you so much, we couldn’t make ourselves record a whole new episode so close to your birthday. So, like the eagle soars, we put together a clip show for you. If you’re a faithful listener, who not only has listened to every episode, but loves the USA unconditionally, you’re free to go. Otherwise, we suggest you listen to this patriotic tribute to us, and the good times we’ve had in these fifty, nifty United States.

T3 23: Top Stuff of 2012 So Far

This week, we do things a little different. Instead of making a new list, perhaps inspired by the new film Ted or the return of Louie to FX, we look back at the things that inspired all our lists so far. You see, we’re just about halfway through 2012, believe it or not, and now would be a good point to check out what’s made this year bearable (Ted pun intended). Oh, and happy birthday, Kathy Bates.

T3 22: Top 10 Pixar Characters

Our friends at Pixar are putting out their latest feature, Brave which means we can talk about something vaguely related. Personally, I thought it would be pretty cool to talk about Disney princesses, since this is their first princess movie. But I guess we’re a bit to bro-y for that? Like, what’s the big deal? So what if Tinkerbell isn’t technically a princess? Close enough. This is America, we don’t even have royalty anyway! Screw princesses!

Check it out after the break, children.

T3 21: Top 10 Albums of 1985-1989

Mad Men‘s season ended, so it’s obviously time for another albums list. This week, we take the Rock of Ages approach and turn our steely gaze toward the late Eighties. Now, the music in that movie might not be what we would have chosen, so don’t be surprised if our list doesn’t serve as an extended soundtrack for the film. In fact, it’s probably pretty different. And, if you ask us, a lot better.

Find the list hiding out below.

T3 20: Top 10 Sci-Fi Moves

Like a vengeful genetically enhanced man whose been marooned on a harsh planet for years, we’re back from break and ready to get some lists made. First on the docket: sci-fi movies. It’s a pretty cool time for sci-fi movies right now, what with them coming out and making money. Except for John Carter, but that doesn’t really fit with the narrative we’re crafting. Instead, focus on the movies that came before, the all-time greats. Yeah, that sounds fun.

What do you think will be on the list? Serenity? Sunshine? You can read below to find out.

T3 19: Top 10 Future Technology

Welcome to the world of tomorrow. A place where cats and dogs not only live together, they’re happy to do so. Where dead singers can be brought back as holograms and that apparently doesn’t offend anyone. Where people carry magical devices that contain all the world’s information, yet spend most of their time simulating combat between birds and pigs. Where we talk about 10 possible inventions of the future we can’t wait to see.

Time travel past the jump to see the list.

T3 18: Top 10 Children’s Playthings That Should Never Be Movies

So, Battleship. Who knew that for all these years what we were actually play was a Michael Bay-esque battle for the planet between brave sailors and devious robot aliens? Nobody, because that’s not how the game works. And yet, here we are. This week, we tackle the issue of dumb adaptations with a bunch of projects that are theoretically in the pipeline, but really, never should be made.

You can turn the card over and look at the answers after the break.
