T3 54: Top 10 Remakes We’d Like to See

Hollywood sure loves a remake. I mean, it makes sense. Movies have to compete with YouTube, cable TV, on-demand, Netflix and God knows what tomorrow will have in store for our entertainment. So the filmmakers of the world have to leech onto anything we might possibly recognize. And sometimes, that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Sometimes a movie has a good concept, maybe even a good script, but it just doesn’t work out. This week we talked about a bunch of movies just like that, that we believe deserve a second chance.

T3 53: Top 10 Reasons To Not Be Excited About The Mariners Season

Last year, we still had some hope. We did an entire episode dedicated to how the 2012 Mariners season was a thing we were capable of looking forward to… We were so naive. Not this year, no sir. We know the score now, we’re pretty used to being disappointed by the M’s. So we’re taking a different approach, a darker approach, a meaner approach. Cause hey, what have the Mariners done for us lately? Well, they gave King Felix a big contract for one. But let’s not think about the good stuff. Let’s think of the bad. The reasons NOT to be excited about the Mariners season.

T3 52: Behind The Defenestrators

With Sean ailing from a mysterious strand of super ebola, the rest of the gang was forced to improvise and settled on doing something that we all are good at, reminiscing. So to celebrate the tenth anniversary of our beloved band The Defenestrators, here’s a complete oral history of the band from it’s humble beginnings as the Dancing Spleens.

T3 51: Top 10 Fairy Tale Movies We Want to See

The ol’ switcheroo. We came into this, much like our boardgames episode, planning on talking about the absolute worst ideas for adapting fairy tales into movies. But after a little while, our ideas were either so obscure or so literal that they became rather appealing. Our proposed movies would never actually get made, but if they did, chances are we would want to see them.

T3 50: Top Blog Memories of 2008

This is a weird, self-indulgent episode (like that’s a change of pace for us). Three weeks ago, this blog turned five years old. We’ve come a long way, from a copyright-infringing mess to something that’s kinda, sorta actually cool. This podcast has been on a similar journey, having been a labor of love for over a year and fifty episodes. So allow us to reflect on that first year of the blog, as we reminisce about the subjects we wrote about and the terrible decisions we made.

T3 49: Top 10 Albums of 2008

We’re so 2000-and late. For me, 2008 was the first year I really started looking for new music on my own. We had just started this blog and I was working at my college radio station and listening to a lot of stuff I didn’t like, and some that I did. I started reading music review websites and got into bands I would have never given a shot before, like Murder by Death, the Gaslight Anthem, Drive by Truckers, and the Dodos. So I think I may have inflated that period of experimentation in my mind to something greater than it actually was, but I’ll be damned if 2008 doesn’t seem like the greatest year of music in recent memory. Why don’t we find out together as we look back at our top 10 albums of 2008? Happy birthday Colin!
